When I was living in Europe I knew that I wanted to adventure outside of where people normally travel too and discover an entirely new place which ultimately lead me to Ischia. Ischia is an extremely small island next to Capri. It does not get nearly as many visitors as Capri and is broken into two separate parts — Forio and Ischia. The Ischia side is where the majority of the resorts, restaurants and city life is whereas Forio faces the ocean and does not not get nearly as many visitors especially in the off holiday season.
To be honest I planned this trip extremely last minute and didn’t realize what side was the “tourist” side so when we ended up on the Forio side we were pretty surprised but ended up loving it.
When you’re traveling never be afraid when you’re outside of your comfort zone. When you feel out of your comfort zone are the moments when you learn the most about yourself.
- Transportation Tip
- When you are traveling to either Ischia or Capri, you travel into Naples and take a ferry from there. Neither island has an airport and it is the only way into the islands!
- Check ferry times! They run on a time schedule and their are different speeds of the ferries — take the faster one, trust me it’s worth the few extra Euro.
